Working for one of the World's leading mall
developers, Jim Needham acted as the Landlord's representative for eight malls in a fashion conscious market; coordinating and directing both major and minor retailers in the preparation of their scope, estimates, design, drawing approval, permitting hurdles and monitoring/managing construction.
Jim interfaced directly with Tenant, Designer, Tenant Architect, Leasing, Operations and Mall Managers to ensure that each installation achieved optimal design potential and opened successfully prior to rent commencement.
MAY DEPARTMENT STORES
At May Department Stores, Jim was a Senior Designer and directed multiple interior design, architectural, and lighting firms on 12-14 major retail design projects per year, representing approximately $120 million
dollars worth of interior space.
Jim’s role was key in the decision making process for new rollouts, and creative solutions for interior design, fixtures, color / material research and merchandising. His design skills linked with his ability to sketch, draw, and build 3d computer environments enabled him to function as a powerful contributor.
Jim Needham was particularly distinguished in design development exercises, exploring new territory for May Department Stores.
